Who Is PawBobby?

So, who is PawBobby?

Well, I’m a retired U.S. Army veteran, a retired registered nurse, and, as you can probably tell by now… I’m retired! 😊

I’ve been collecting diecast cars since 1996. I’m 77 years old, and I was a young Private in the Army when Hot Wheels first came onto the scene. Back then, I didn’t have much time, much interest, or much money for collecting. Life had other plans.

Years later, when my children grew up and started having children of their own, I became “PawBobby.” That’s when collecting diecast cars became a real hobby for me.

Eventually, my hobby led me to eBay, where I began buying and selling diecast cars. What I enjoy most today isn't simply buying or selling—it’s the comradery among collectors. I enjoy buying, selling, trading, talking about cars, and helping fellow collectors find that one special car they’ve been searching for.

You might call me a “scalper.”

No way!

I buy every car I sell. Sometimes I buy entire cases and offer the cars individually. Other times, I purchase collections and make those cars available to other collectors.

You might think I’m doing all of this to make money.

No way!

After paying for a case of cars, shipping, packing materials, and all the other expenses that come with selling online, I may be lucky to sell half of what I purchased. By the time everything is said and done, I often haven't made any money at all—and sometimes I've actually lost money.

But that's not really why I do it.

The reward is hearing from another collector who says, “You helped me fill a hole in my collection.”

That makes it all worthwhile.
